Woke up this morning to sunshine and blue skies. we are going to spend the day fishing in the channel for salmon. last year Uti caught a bunch of salmon here. the tide will be slack around 2:30 so we are going to head out about 2.
The banks of this little cove are so steep that we are having a Heck of a time finding a place to take the dogs ashore. so Ben butts the dingy up next to the shore and I jump overboard with the rope and secure out to some rocks then wade back and grab the dogs one by one. fortunately, after about the second trip to shore Chloe figured out she could jump to shore and then jump back on the dingy so that helped with the whole operation! There wasn't much land to go potty on... The banks are so steep and covered with brush, but they have figured our that when the opportunity is there.... They take advantage of it!
I wasn't feeling all that hot today so Ben went out with Jerre and Ute in their boat, the fishing sucked and they had a few bites but that was all so about 5pm they came back into the bay.
we had Ben's lingcod that he caught for dinner. WOW was it good! I pan fried it with a coating of Panko bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. I do think it was the best fish I have ever eaten. so light and tasty. I think it was even better than Idaho trout!
we will try our hand at fishing again tomorrow.
